Nasturtium and bowl
Well it was a great day at Art On The Prom in Felixstowe yesterday. I met lots of wonderful people, got a lot of great feedback and sold some paintings – job done. This is one bought by the lovely Jenkinson family and I hope they enjoy it along with the others. Somebody came back to buy it after it had gone so I’m working on some more nasturtiums this morning as they seemed popular.
My great friend Angie helped me wheel the paintings down to the prom in two of her collection of coach-built prams which led to a lot of nostalgia amongst the visiting public. Everyone enjoyed bouncing the prams and recalling memories of either pushing one or sitting in one…………ahh, those were the days.
This little bowl is one of stacks I bought at Hock Lee’s supermarket which used to be down the road from where we lived in Kuala Lumpur. When we went back a few years ago I was saddened to see it had disappeared to make way for a new road – such is progress! I think everyone I knew at the time bought this crockery but these days it can be found in John Lewis!
Glad you had a great show and hope you managed to pack up before the late rain came through. I was the mystery returner for the Nasturtium and Bowl picture you mention above – will definitely keep an eye on progress. Love your work. Darren
Thank you Darren. I got absolutely soaked! Luckily, managed to keep paintings dry though – I’ve got my priorities right. Am working on a nasturtium today so keep your eyes peeled it will be posted in the next couple of days or better still, sign up and then it will come to you automatically!!
