Paperwhites in mustard tin
I found these lovely little Scilly Isles paperwhites in the covered market in Oxford. The smell was amazing but you have to catch them just right – there’s a slight cat-pee tendency. As for the tin, I was in a friend’s studio admiring his new work when this makeshift pencil pot caught my eye. I knew I wanted to paint it and have promised to give it back………..that was last summer – a bit of a magpie.
Just found your mustard tin on DPW ‘what’s new’ . I have just spent the afternoon painting a Colman’s Tin, although I think yours is vintage as the lettering is slightly different. I will wait until next week before I upload mine; we should be getting a back hander for giving all this publicity to Colman’s. Enjoyed your painting very much. Greetings from Norwich!
That happens to me all the time! Isn’t it called zeitgeist?? Don’t let it stop you and you do come from the mustard city!
