update
Well, we made it to Bangkok. We said goodbye to Thida and headed off for the airport with very mixed feelings. Heavy storms last night was our welcome back. Things have changed quite a bit in the four years since we left – mainly more shopping centers! It’s quite a contrast from slow, quiet Cambodia to the hustle, bustle and outrageous consumerism of Thailand. It’s mind-boggling how much “stuff” there is here – who buys it all?? We did a three-hour shopping stint this morning and then took Flora to meet up with her old schoolfriends – so lovely. She really misses her friends and life in Bangkok. However, I don’t. I’ve realized that I’m far too partial now to peace and quiet. I miss Attic Studios where I used to paint with friends a lot but other than that…….not much. Especially since I’ve come down with Bangkok belly. Home tomorrow and back to painting on Monday all things being equal. Sorry this hasn’t been a very informative travelblog but as we lived here before, we haven’t felt the need to do any sightseeing, just catching up with people. Also, the camera broke the other day so can’t even show any pics!
See you next week. Back to rhubarb, apple blossom and tulips……….aaaah.
I may have missed your art but I have enjoyed your travelog.
We sponsored a young lady for many years until she graduated from nursing school in Honduras. Our rewards have been many.
Your writing has been interesting and enjoyable and I for one, thank you for taking the time
Sorry to hear you picked up Bangkok belly!!
Safe trip.home.
Thank you Julie, can’t wait to get back to the easel.
