Only an antipodean would like this stuff, so this was a birthday present for an Australian friend. You either love it or hate it and this is definitely a hate thing for me………..now Marmite, that’s another story. Guess you have to be from the southern hemisphere to appreciate it.
It’s OK in casseroles but not a patch on Marmite!

Hello Penny, came across your Vegimite painting on DPW. As a Brit living in the US I stock up on my yearly trip back to the UK to stock up on Marmite and Bovril, too expensive here, (if you can find it).

Thanks for putting me intouch with your daily paintings & blogs. I’m Dave, by the way…we met again at Ross’ birthday lunch on Sunday. I am very impressed that you manage to produce such a complete painting in a day, I was expecting to see something much more abstract (unfinished?). I like the Vegemite idea – presumably that’s what you were giving to Ross for his present. I’m sure he loves it but in other respects I find Ross one of the least ‘Aussie’ Australians I’ve ever met. Unlike most Aussie males, you can’t bait him with any comments about rugby or cricket. Regards, dave x
