Mushrooms

8”x8”, oil on gessoboard – SOLD

Sorry for lack of posts in the last few days, due to a technical glich.  There won’t be any for the next ten either as Jobbers and I are off to Italy tomorrow for a tootle round Puglia, celebrating a big anniversary.  Can’t wait for a bit of sunshine to warm the bones and a long, cool glass of Prosecco.   So, arrivederci until October 1st.

Figs on a plate

8”x8”, oil on gessoboad

I have to make good use of my figs before they go downstairs to the kitchen where they’re likely to be devoured in a matter of minutes.   Next week I will be sampling fresh Italian figs in the sunshine………..more on that later.  In the meantime, my studio is up and wonderful.  It needs to be painted green as with the white undercoat, it’s a bit in-your-face.  A little subtlety is required me thinks.  ‘Jobbers’  is busy insulating it for me, bless.   I create envy in all my friends having this husband who is never happier than when he’s got a project.

Figs on paper

8''x8'', oil on gessoboardWhat an exciting day.  My new studio went up in a matter of two hours.  In the meantime, I was upstairs painting figs.  I can’t wait to move in but it will be a while yet.  Thanks to everyone who came to the private view last night for open studios.  The exhibition features four artists and will be on at The Walnut Tree for the next month.

Another raid from a friend’s garden.  It’s a wonder I have any left.  Friends that is.

Cox’s apple

8”x8”, oil on gessoboard-SOLD

Another cox’s apple.  Well actually, the same one.  I just had to ignore the brown bits, it having been cut and exposed for a few hours.  Everything’s coming thick and fast now at harvest time and I’m going on holiday next week………doh.

Cox’s apple 11

8''x8'', oil on gessoboard-SOLD

It’s that time of year again but sadly there is not much fruit on my trees.  A combination of warm spring and a late frost did for the blossoms.  Hey ho, another cycle begins now.  I’m going to finish today’s painting off and watch the olympic parade.

Nasturtiums in a marmite jar

8''x8'', oil on gessoboard

This little marmite bowl was found by Charlie, a friend’s son,  when he was helping to dig out the site for my new studio.   I don’t know how old it is but it’s definitely different to the ones we have today.  Anyway, Charlie proved to be a great asset in the earth-shifting department so thanks Charlie.   Apologies for the poor photo.

Lemons on a shelf 2

8''x8'', oil on gessoboard-SOLD

More lemons in the ramekin before the sunshine goes.  I’m home alone today for the first time since June!  I’m hoping to get a lot of painting done although the housework is making its feelings known.  I think the painting might win out.

Mustard jar

8''x8'', oil on canvas - SOLD

Here’s the painting that I gave my little sis for her big birthday on Monday.  She’s a great sister and it was given with love.   Aaawwwwwwwww.

Cherries and bowl stack

8''x8'', oil on gessoboard-SOLD

Lovely summer cherries and my favourite stack of bowls.  We are a flurry of activity this afternoon getting ready to go back to school.
