Pears in a blue bowl

I’ve been itching to eat these juicy red pears but need to do a few more paintings of them first as they’re such a lovely colour. The Manet exhibition was wonderful, Oxford Street was not, although probably quieter than the weekdays. My daughter balked at the prices in Selfridges and couldn’t understand why anyone would pay so much more for designer clothes – that’s my girl! A smart move on her part, such clarity of thought compelled me to reward in the less expensive shops. I wonder if that was the plan? Surely a sixteen-year-old couldn’t be that cunning.
