Tangerine and coffee cup

Last week at the Christmas Mela there were stalls and stalls of Pakistani goodies…cashmere scarves, pashminas, handmade bags, carpets etc. but the one thing that caught my eye was this little cup and saucer. It was sitting on a stall watched over by a little old lady who had brought a table full of random goods. Ever on the lookout for still life props, I did the deal. Isn’t it gorgeous? Have a great weekend. Off to the German Embassy Christmas bazaar now for a cup or two of gluuwein and some wurst….yum.

You may get sick of tangerines, it’s pretty much all to paint at the moment and it looks like we’re going to be back on lockdown…..hey ho. Can be posted next week.

Tangerines

I’ve discovered that I need to send my blog out at the optimum time for internet inactivity here otherwise it just doesn’t work. Anyway, not sure these are tangerines. Could be satsumas or mandarins, clementines….who knows? Can anyone educate me on how you tell..answers on a postcard please.

Brancaster staithe

I have been painting tangerines this week but they are still wet (the paintings, not the tangerines) so will show you next week. This photo was taken early morning a couple of weeks ago in North Norfolk when I fitted in a crafty one before starting the business of the day. It was pretty chilly so I need to get myself some mittens. I didn’t get time to finish it but the bones are there. Have a good weekend. The sun is shining here and it’s about 20 degrees and there are no Christmas shopping crowds at all …..every cloud…

Plums on a shelf

So here’s another sold off the easel and heading off to Australia. In the meantime, I have been in the residence kitchen this morning helping to make gingerbread men for the charity cake stall at the Christmas Mela on Saturday. It doesn’t get much more ex-patty than that! Must be time for a g&t 😉

I’m back in Pakistan where the skies are sunny and the temperature has dropped since I was last here to cardi-required
depths. Brrrr. whilst I get back into the groove painting-wise, here are a few coming up which sold off the easel before I left.

New prints

After yesterday’s excitement, I didn’t get much done this morning but I do have four new limited edition giclee prints to show you. I am taking orders for Christmas and they can be posted out on 6th December….just in time. I’m going off-piste a bit next week and then flying back to Pakistan so I will pop up in your inbox again shortly. Have a good week.

Typo

Wretched auto-correct. Should read December! If anyone would like a ticket to the private view, please let me know.

A brilliant bit of news

Exciting news for me! Just heard that this painting has been selected for the Royal Institute of Oil Painters 2014 exhibition which runs through September at the Mall Galleries.
A red-letter day then but bittersweet as I watched my last ever school hockey match….sob. Won’t miss those windy sidelines though. Think it’s probably considered very uncool to watch uni matches so I guess that’s it…over. Empty-nest syndrome kicking in but too happy today so will let it wash over me.
