Sweetpeas 4

Morning. I couldn’t resist one last quick stab at these before they all fade. No purple ones left though which was weird. Anyway, the joy is I get to do it all again when they come out in the UK, that’s if there are any left to buy as seedlings.
Right, I’m going offline for a couple of weeks. Tomorrow I’m going on an exciting adventure and taking my paints with me but it’s pretty remote so no chance of wifi. I will try and post the paintings I do when I get back and then I’ll be back at the easel in the UK for a while. See you then!

Plums and sake cup

Listening to Bob Dylan on the Ipod and painting……..what more can a girl want. The sun is shining but I can’t be tempted.
Plums today.

Mackerel

I’ve been busy finishing off this one so no daily painting for today. This is a larger one 30×40 and boy, did it get smelly in the studio! Need to work faster if I’m going to carry on the fish theme. I have a fancy to do a crab but I think they’re sold live here and I can’t bring myself to either boil it or let it die slowly and certainly don’t want to find it halfway across the studio floor in the morning – dilemma!

Nasturtiums in a stone jar

Whoops. Forgot to post yesterday so here it is. Have a great weekend.

Coronation mugs

It’s been a while since I’ve painted these but what with it being HM The Queen’s 90th birthday, I thought perhaps I would. Seems to be a hive of industry here in preparation for the festivities……balloons, jellies, pass the parcel. No, not really, think it will be a little more refined, but you never know!

Guava

So, apparently the UK is enjoying a bright, sunny day today. How lovely. We are here too but it’s quite hot and getting a little uncomfortable. I grabbed these Guava (Guavas?) in the greengrocer but once painted, never sure what to do with them.

Pears and nasturtiums

The orange of these pears seemed to echo the nasturtiums, so in they went. Can’t say the pear was as delicious as it’s colour suggested but never mind eh? I have a couple of places left on the June workshops if anybody would like one.

Molly

Apologies, thought this had sent on Friday but evidently not. Here’s Friday’s blog then;

I did this quick sketch on Wednesday of a lovely young lady called Molly who was kind enough to sit.
Not sure I’ve done her justice but time didn’t permit too much in the way of improvement. Have a great weekend.

Nasturtiums in a ginger jar

Morning all. No blog yesterday as I had no internet – not an altogether unusual occurence here. I did manage to get a lot of painting done though so that’s a plus. And a visit to a jewellry maker but that’s another matter! The weather is getting pretty steamy here with the pre-monsoon heat so an easel in the air-conditioning is quite where I want to be midday.

Sweetpeas 2

Another aborted plein-air attempt. This time, I’d left half my paints at home! I think I’m jinxed this week so repaired to the house for some more sweetpea painting.
