Narcissi

Well, here we are…..it’s Easter. Feeling a bit chilly but will be lovely to have Flora home and Joe will be coming round too plus extended family. Hoping for a nice walk at some stage and supper with friends tomorrow.
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

Narcissi and teapot

I love it when spring arrives and you can fill your house with flowers. Every container in the house gets used! I wanted to let you know that I’m doing a painting demo at Coton Manor gardens on April 10th as a follow up to my exhibition which still has a week or two to run. Exhibition is at 78 Derngate  https://www.78derngate.org.uk/ and the demo sign up is http://www.cotonmanor.co.uk/garden_school_programme.php.  Here are some daffs to be getting on with.

Cherries in blue dish

Ooooh, I’ve got the kitchen doors open and it’s marvellous. I’m hoping it’ll ward off the mini-mini-beast which is supposedly on its way. I’m a little tired today after a late night trip to see Michael McIntyre for Jobber’s birthday. Very funny so well worth it.
Here are some cherries for you.

Pears

I feel I should be in the greenhouse today but can’t tear myself away from the studio. I’m working on a few large ones for various venues but had time to do these pears this morning before scoffing one at lunchtime!

Primula 2

Hi all. Oh, so lovely to see the sun and feel a little warmth on the old bones. About time. I thought I’d celebrate the spring equinox with this herald, another version of the one I painted last week.

Primula

Thought I’d post this one before the weekend. Hoping the weather won’t be too disruptive but maybe I’ll get to paint the snow……. Have a lovely weekend.

Last of the snowdrops

I think I’m done with snowdrops now for this year.  They’re here for such a short time that I can’t help but make use of them whilst they’re around.  More snow coming apparently……….I’m done with that too!

Snowdrops in blue cup

I hope all you mummies out there had a lovely day yesterday and were thoroughly spoilt.  With the rain back today, it’s feeling a bit grim but there are still snowdrops in my garden and signs of other things coming.

I also managed to plant my three new roses, bought especially to paint later on in the year.  Desdemona, Claire Austin and Sweet Juliet.  Delish!  Prepping boards this afternoon……groan.  I’ve posted information on new workshops on my website workshops page.  Two new lovely venues so do take a peak and email me if it floats your boat.

Hellebores and cherries

Hi, I’ve been busy with larger works again but managed to get some Hellebores painted. They are so gorgeous, heralding the arrival of spring (!) with their garnet red petals.
How fortunate that I had some cherries in the studio too which match their colours beautifully!!
Have a lovely weekend……heading north tomorrow so no time to paint 🙁

Cherries and little pot

After a hectic morning, I decided to carry on with cherries as they make me feel warmer! Driving to the doctor’s surgery, we had to leave the car abandoned half way as the road was blocked with snowdrifts and abandoned cars.
I have to say, I’m a little tired of the beast now. I set up my easel in the greenhouse to paint the fields beyond our garden in the relative shelter but the snow on the fields is all but gone now!
Hey ho, best laid plans.
