Carnaval de Nice

Hi there. I know, I’ve been very sporadic with these oil sketches but I am really busy beavering away for my upcoming exhibition at Snape Maltings (Quay Gallery 7-13th June) as well as running workshops. I thought I’d post this littl’un to remind you I’m here and also remind you that you can unsubscribe any time by just replying to this email with “Unsubscribe” in the subject box……..yawn, just covering the GDPR bases. If you’re in the Aldeburgh area in June, I’d love to see you at the exhibition which I’ll be manning each day. Here’s the one beautiful Carnaval de Nice tulip that flowered in that first heatwave. The rest didn’t bother and who can blame them. That’s the trouble with ready-potted ones I think. They’re quite tempemental.

Primrose

Hi there.  Long time, no speak.  I’ve been really busy painting like a madwoman for an exhibition at Snape Mailtings in early June.  A long way off do I hear you say?  Well yes but that doesn’t take into account for the fact that I’ll be locking my studio next week for a fortnight whilst I indulge my visiting grandaughter.  She’s an absolute joy and I don’t see nearly enough of her.  There isn’t much that will distract me from painting but she does!

Before I show you my latest small painting, I must remind you of my privacy policy in advance of the changes to data protection law in the next few weeks.  Doubtless you’re quite sick of companies asking you to confirm that you want to stay on their mailing list.  Well good news.  Since you voluntarily subscribed to this blog, you need to nothing unless you’d like not to receive any more of these little gems in our inbox.  In that case, just reply with the word Unsubscribe in the subject line.  How simple is that.  YOUR DATA IS KEPT IN A SECURE LOCATION ON A SECURE WEBSITE AND I WILL NEVER PASS YOUR DETAILS ON TO A THIRD PARTY.  I value your friendship too much!  Of course, you can always follow me on FB or Instagram @penny german and I’m working on a monthly newsletter to send out for those that prefer little and often.

So, enough of that.  I’ve been enjoying the primroses in the garden and somehow just alighted on these two little blooms in this shallow bowl.  Little things like this just speak to me.
