HP sauce

Here’s a mate for yesterday’s painting, both done very quickly as a warm-up, getting back into the groove after the festivities. Getting back into the saddle takes a while. I fancied some plein-air today but even though the rain’s gone, the light is pretty flat.

Now here’s something that hasn’t seen the light of day recently. Even my offspring don’t put it on Turkey!
Salad days from here on in methinks. Just back from Leeds and salvaging Flora’s damaged possessions, getting her settled into temporary accommodation. Incidentally, a place has just become free on Saturday’s (9th) workshop so let me know if you’re feeling a creative urge and we’d love you to join us. (See www.pennygerman.com/workshops)

Something a little ”off-festive” today and was the welcome protagonist of an omlette last night. So much rich food having been digested, it’s lovely to get back to basics…….if I needed anything at all!!
As the year draws to an end, I’d like to thank you all massively for supporting me and following my blog. It’s been a blast and I’ve got exciting plans and a big anniversary coming up but more on that next week. In the meantime, Happy New Year to you all and I wish you much success and happiness in 2016.

Mackerel

Excuse my absence yet again but the last of the family matters took me away from the studio. Normal service is back! I had a particularly fishy day in the studio on Friday and this was the “draft” for a larger painting. I had to leave the door open but was on constant vigil for local feline population.
I also wanted to remind you that I have workshops on 11th and 12th January. If you’d like to buy a place for a loved one or friend for Christmas, I have made some vouchers to be slipped into a Christmas stocking. Places are going fast so email me soonest.

Garlic and figs on tiles

I’m not sure how many variations on a theme can be done but I’m giving it my best! Anyway, this is the last for now…….probably. I feel the need for something new. Must go and look in the fridge. Hmmm. There’s only me home at the moment and not sure a dried up finger of parmesan and a half jar of mayonnaise is going to make a great painting. Time to raid some friends’ gardens methinks.

Quail eggs

I can’t ever resist these little beauties but never quite sure how to use them up nice I’ve painted them. I suppose Jobbers and I could dress up in our finery and have them with champers for supper from a silver platter? Maybe not. Any ideas?
I’m having a very impromptu open studio at Chapel Cottage on Sunday from 11-4. If you’re around do pop in and see what I’ve been up to lately. No obligation to buy, just come and have a cuppa and maybe even a piece of cake….quail egg cake of course. Chapel Cottage, NN12 8AG. Suppose I’d better go and clean the kitchen! Other than that, I shall have paintings at Silverstone all this week for SN Arts Trail http://liz-bucklow.wix.com/south-northants-arts

I think I’m losing my marbles. I completely forgot to post yesterday’s painting. Anyway, the subject matter is going into a bowl of pasta later on this evening as I’m catching up with a long lost friend whilst Jobbers is in Cumbria.
Tech glitches still abound so if interested in this painting please email me. First come as they say..

Old English Marmalade

I still seem to have paintings that I haven’t yet posted. I must have had a very hardworking month last month! Here’s some marmalade which was a joy to paint on a rainy summer day. Not so here, the sun has come out at last but I’ve been at the easel all day and hardly noticed it.

Treacle tin

Just too hot! I know I shouldn’t say it but….
I was out painting barns yesterday and got home too tired to blog and needing to cook. Will show you that one once I’ve finished it. So here’s one I made earlier. Will post roses tomorrow and peonies coming up!

Raspberry jam

No post yesterday as I was on a course learning how to get ahead using social media etc. I’m a bit of a Luddite so it was well worth it. A very good course for “creatives” who are a bit pants at marketing. Here’s the link if you feel the need http://www.therefectorytable.com. I’d recommend it plus the lunch was amazing which is all that’s needed to tempt me, lots of lovely salads!
Jam for tea…..not really, sausages. Two boys in the house.
