I bought these the other day as I was desperate to paint my broad beans and they weren’t ready. I will pick them next week and paint them and then squash them on ciabatta with parmesan, lemon and olive oil…………what a treat.

It’s going to be a hot one this weekend apparently, so I went to the greengrocer’s stall today and stocked up on salad stuff. All we need now is some sunshine and then we can BBQ the steak I bought at the butcher and bingo………….easy suppers. Apart from a school event tomorrow, we have nothing much planned which means a lovely mellow Sunday in the garden……………mmm, that’s what summer is all about. Or will I just look at all those weeds and feel the need to jump up…………….oh resist, resist.

Whilst I am busy sorting out some technical gliches, I thought I would post this painting done back in March. These little gems were one of the first signs of spring and already, we’re in high summer……………… although nobody thought to tell the weather that. It would be nice to think that we’ll get some sunshine soon.

The garden is full of these at the moment, which is great as they fill in the gaps. They also cover the verges on the side of the road and are the essence of high summer………………..even in the rain.
