Onions and garlic 2

I was very sad to hear of the demise of B.B.King today. He’s kept me company in the studio for many years (on the iPod!). Sad day. Here’s another demo piece from this week’s workshops. I’m going off line for a couple of weeks while I do some travelling, finish up work for Patchings and Childwickbury and hopefully get round the Moonwalk tomorrow night. Wish me luck and see you in two weeks.

Workshops

Two great days of workshops – exhausting but very enjoyable and some fantastic work produced. I managed to finish this demo piece off in the studio today. I’m hoping for some sun tomorrow before I miss the rape season.

Asparagus and lemons

Still dazed by the surprise election results, I hid in the studio and put my mind to some asparagus. This my favourite time of the culinary year….can’t get enough of the stuff. Am trying out a watermark app which is why my name is plastered on the image. Any interesting recipes always welcome. Pop them in my comments box if you please. Have a lovely weekend. Workshops on Monday and Tuesday so no post till mid-week.

Beets

Managed this today despite all the distractions. The sun has just come back out and I’m itching to go and paint in the lanes now. Five in the afternoon is perfect. When the light is at it’s best and the shadows are amazing.
Anyway, here’s some beetroot…..right, I’m off.

Garlic and eggshell

Phew, the temperature is soaring here and I’m staying out at the easel.

Garlic

Well I hope we all had a lovely Easter. We had a very quiet one but the sun shone and we were very relaxed. I think I confused some people with my Easter giveaway. I actually posted the winners email address (well, half of it as I would never give away someone’s email address) and asked THEM to email their postal address to me which they duly did. A painting is on the way to the USA where the winner lives. To those others of you who sent me their address, sorry but better luck next time. The winner is chosen at random from my subscribers list.
Here’s some garlic which was sold off the easel last week.

Easter giveaway

As promised, a spring painting will be wending it’s way to the randomly-chosen winner of the Easter draw so sit up and pay attention because it’s you veralisa08! If you send me your address, I will send it on to you when I get back to the UK. Enjoy.
In the meantime, I thought I would give you a peep at a larger painting I’ve been working on this week while my poor Floss revises for the dreaded A’levels. It’s probably just as well that it’s raining but she sure could do with a little downtime by the pool if the sun comes out. Anyway, here’s wishing you all a very lovely Easter. I will miss being in the UK, my favourite time of year.

Turnips

I’ve been channeling my inner Baldrick this week. I just love turnips and I’ve also discovered a gorgeous blue (king’s blue) which Haidee-Jo Summers switched me on to……fantastic colour out of the tube. Could this be my blue period? I’ve also done a larger version which needs oiling out (a scary process) so will show you that later.

Radishes on a shelf

Well, lockdown was mercifully brief. It seems that Karachi saw most of the protests. The Burns night ball was great fun and my eight some reel is coming on a treat. I managed not to harm anyone at all. This is the last of the radishes.
