Cherries and cups

It’s been all about the whites and reflections this week. Battling to get shadows into my whites so there’s been a lot of experimentation. This little experiment was the start of it all. Off to Cumbria this weekend for a few days. No wifi to speak of where we’re staying but if I do find some I’ll blog my plein-air Cumbrian scenes. Have a great BH weekend.

Baby lemons and bowl

These are new-crop lemons which are pretty sharp at this stage! Ok for a gin and tonic though of course.
I’m glad I did this yesterday as it’s pretty dark today and I’m having seeing well enough to paint. It’s raining cats and dogs but then I don’t suppose I’ll get much sympathy from you over the pond! I hear the rain in Cumbria is back and causing more flooding. Hope everyone is ok.

Cosmos

What a wash out of a bank holiday Monday! We returned from Cumbria on Sunday night and woke up to pouring rain. Of course the sun was blazing in Cumbria! typical. never mind, a few hours in the studio and a very long. Wet dog walk with a pint in The Plough as reward meant all was not lost.
