After a rather hectic March, I’m heading for a quieter period now (I hope) and a bit of a catch-up on the daily painting front. The sun is shining, the beds are weeded……..kind of and all is well in the world. Kicking off proceedings is a garlic bulb which has been hanging about in the studio for a while.

Phew, it’s getting warm now. Not hot enough to swim but rather warm to be doing long walks – I’ll just have to march on the spot at the easel in the air-conditioning. Anyway, the sweetpeas are glorious and spilling over the fences so that’ my remit next week. Always something to paint here. In the meantime, the spoils of my fridge…..

Ok, I’m back in the saddle and I have some big news! Drum roll………..I’ve passed my five-year milestone. Yes, five years of daily painting and I’m still loving it. It has to be said, life has thrown a few things in the way of production a few times last year and all the travelling means a few gaps in blog but essentially I’m producing five-six daily paintings a week and enjoying every minute. I’m also producing some larger pieces so life is pretty busy. A bit overcast today but I hear Britain is waking up to the big freeze so shouldn’t complain. Not a lot of light for painting though so have been doing admin. Here’s one from earlier this month.

I’m not sure how many variations on a theme can be done but I’m giving it my best! Anyway, this is the last for now…….probably. I feel the need for something new. Must go and look in the fridge. Hmmm. There’s only me home at the moment and not sure a dried up finger of parmesan and a half jar of mayonnaise is going to make a great painting. Time to raid some friends’ gardens methinks.

I was very sad to hear of the demise of B.B.King today. He’s kept me company in the studio for many years (on the iPod!). Sad day. Here’s another demo piece from this week’s workshops. I’m going off line for a couple of weeks while I do some travelling, finish up work for Patchings and Childwickbury and hopefully get round the Moonwalk tomorrow night. Two great days of workshops – exhausting but very enjoyable and some fantastic work produced. I managed to finish this demo piece off in the studio today. I’m hoping for some sun tomorrow before I miss the rape season.

Well I hope we all had a lovely Easter. We had a very quiet one but the sun shone and we were very relaxed. I think I confused some people with my Easter giveaway. I actually posted the winners email address (well, half of it as I would never give away someone’s email address) and asked THEM to email their postal address to me which they duly did. A painting is on the way to the USA where the winner lives. To those others of you who sent me their address, sorry but better luck next time. The winner is chosen at random from my subscribers list.
