Daffs and hyacinths

I was lucky enough to be given these at lunch the other day and immediately set to with paint. Well, not entirely immediately, I did remember my manners and fed my guests first. I don’t know about you but I am suffering from Thatcher-fatigue. Something of a déjà vu.

Hyacinths and bowl

The snow is on it’s way back apparently so I’m bedding down for the weekend.  I’ve got a large painting on the go and I have to give the subject matter back to the owner soon (a chair) so need to crack on!  It’s half-term for us next week so off to Kirkby Lonsdale to see family and hopefully getout and do some painting. Will take mypaints but, somehow it never quite happens.

Hyacinths in a glass

So, those lovely hyacinths got unwrapped, chopped short and bunged in a glass.  Cést la vie.  I disappeared at the end of the week to Somerset to see my sister so didn’t post this.

Gift hyacinths

I bought these to take as a gift for a girlfriend cooking supper…………whoops, she had to have some chocolates instead!  I couldn’t resist the brown paper and those dark shapes in the shadows.   Still, looking on the bright side,  at least I can’t eat the chocolates.
