Figs for Syrian refugees

I was asked to donate a painting to an auction in aid of the poor Syrian refugees who must be desperate now with winter coming. I thought figs (a staple in that part of the world) on Syrian tiles would be apt. This will go to auction on November 1st and I will update you with the details and link when I get them. If you’d like to bid via me I will forward it to the person in charge. The reserve is £90.00. Here’s the link for the charity who will receive 50% of the donations along with Medicin Sans Frontiers who will receive the other 50%. https://www.gofundme.com/4nkswcyw?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=email&utm_content=cta_button&utm_campaign=upd_n
It’s harrowing reading, I must warn you. I’ll remind you about it and give you the link on November 1st when it goes live.

Figs on tiles

Excuse my absence last week but family matters are keeping me out of the studio lately. Anyway, prepare for a fig fest as my favourite fruit are plentiful and I’ve been coupling them with Iznik tiles.

Another commission.  This is for someone who has lived in Turkey for a long time.  These Iznik tiles are in our family bathroom but we brought them back from Jerusalem!  Another grey day but played hookey this afternoon and went to Canon’s Ashby sporting a large umbrella and Kagool.
