Hellebores

Ooooh, I’m loving this spring weather and these little chaps are popping up all over.  There jewel-like colours always inspire me to paint them.  Meanwhile, it’s Friday chaps and the weather is looking fine.  What’s not to like!  Have a lovely one.

Snowdrops 1

It’s that time of year. Everything coming thick and fast and me in a rare old panic. Love Snowdrops though don’t you? Waiting for the warmer weather tomorrow………what a treat!

Cornish hydrangeas

Bump! I’m back in the saddle. That was a rather long absence I admit but very busy with painting trips, exhibitions, horrendously big birthday, holiday and much painting of larger works. Anyway, I’m here for a little while before the next trip in two weeks to Italy (paints packed!) so I’ll be doing a few oil sketches. These are some of those gorgeous blue hydrangeas, the like of which I only seem to find in Cornwall, so bright a hue are they. When I put them in my “dark” box, the colours sang even more. Couldn’t resist scrumping by the side of the road. One of these days………

Cherries on blue shelf

Wow, that was a long break from my dailies and blog.  Excuse the prolonged absence but believe me, I’ve been painting up a storm.  Today I was at Coton Manor, trying to get in a cheeky January since all my recent attempts to get there in January had been thwarted by windy weather or just plain being busy.  I’ll show you the outcome tomorrow.  Anyway, I am on a cherry roll – trying to get some bigger work finished so I did this little one with the leftovers.
