Stan

Hi all. I thought I’d send you this photo of ‘Stan’ painted as a birthday commission. He’s a cute little terrier with a slightly bent front leg so don’t think I don’t know! I enjoyed painting him and his owner is delighted….phew!
I wanted to let you know that I have packs of Christmas cards available. See below packs of 6 cards for £5.00 plus £2.00 p+p for up to four packs. If you’d like some do email me back as they’ll be here next week and I can send them out.
So, what else have I been up to? Lots of painting, naturally and I’m in the middle of organising next year’s workshops. If you’re interested, do let me know and I’ll put your name on the list. I’ll be heading up to London for the ROI pv on November 27th and then shortly after that I’ll be setting up for my exhibition in Hammersmith with Lesley Dabson from 3rd December. If you’d like an invitation for either of those pvs, do let me know.

Snowdrops on my palette

After a lot of indecision this morning, we finally had our snowdrop workshop today and hopefully, everyone’s managed to get home safely.  I did this the other day when I just thought……hmm.  No pots.

Tape them to my board!  Hoping to paint some snow tomorrow although, it doesn’t seem to want to settle.

Snowdrops in a square pot

It was touch and go last night whether we would have to cancel the workshop today but, not a flurry in sight, we all managed to get there and the workshopees made some brilliant work.  It warms my heart when they say they’ve learned lots and go home happy bunnies.

Another one booked for tomorrow, snowdrops this time but I’d prefer snowdrops without the snow tomorrow.  On Thursday, bring it on!  Want to get out there and paint but tomorrow, just want to get all my lovelies there and home safely.

Clementines in a blue bowl

They’re still going……..they must end up in a cake soon. Just to let you know I’ve posted some new workshop dates on my website, including a snowdrops painting day. If you’d like to give a workshop as a Christmas gift, I can offer a voucher. Have a great weekend.

Demo flowers

Well, the second workshop last week was flower painting and a very generous student brought a plethora of painting subjects…..so many that we couldn’t choose so I rather crammed them into the vase in order to demo each type.

Demo piece

I forgot to post yesterday as I was so stuck into the peonies! Anyway, more of them later, once they’re dry. Before that, here’s a quick demo study I did at my recent workshops on the subject of which……….next ones are 11th and 12th September, still life and flower painting respectively and sometime in August I aim to run a plein-air workshop here near Towcester. Do email me if interested.

Lilac and plums

I’m back in the studio today after two days of workshops. Lovely students so it’s always a joy if not totally exhausting! My next workshops are on September 11th and 12th so do email me if you’d like to join us. I thought I’d best get another lilac painted as it’s really on its way out now. The plums just spoke to me in the shop because of their gorgeous bloom.

Demo piece

Well, so much for getting back into the daily painting. I have been doing it but got out of the habit of blogging! Here’s a demo piece I did for the workshopees last week. I can’t believe the weather has turned so beautiful so I’m in my typical spring quandry – spring flowers or plein-air……aaagh, so much to paint, so little time. Enjoy the lovely weather this weekend.

Three figs

I love this time of year – all the fruits are beautiful colours.

Just wanted to let you know that I have spaces on workshops on 29th and 31st October and 1st November if you’re up for a fun day’s painting and a delicious lunch.  The one on the 1st is going to be Christmas themed with the opportunity to have your image made into Christmas cards with which to wow your nearest, dearest and long lost Auntie Maud.  The ultimate comeback to the brag-filled round robin Christmas letter!
